About Me

I am passionate about working with young children.  I believe in providing them with the support they need to grow into peaceful and joyful adults.  Maria Montessori’s educational philosophy and research in early childhood development has continued to inspire me, and reinforce the importance of every single child having a safe supportive environment to grow and discover their highest potential.  I was delighted to find an early childhood music education curriculum co-created by an acclaimed Motessorian, Audrey Sillick.

I have shaped my MUSIKGARTEN classes with those values in mind. Nothing brings me more joy than to spend an hour with a group of children sharing music, dances, poetry, and stories with them.  I am blessed with work that I LOVE!!

I have a BA in Communication/Theatre from DePauw University.  Music and Dance have been a part of my entire life from piano lessons starting at age 6 and continuing through college to voice lessons and choral participation through college, and dance training and choreography through college.

Professionally I have worked with children since 1994 in a variety of settings, including private nanny to daycares to special education in public schools. Most recently, I have spent the past three and half years as a music teacher and assistant teacher at a Montessori school in the area.

I am certified and licensed as a MUSIKGARTEN instructor, and have completed the Montessori Method Early Childhood Overview and the Assistant’s Training through the Northeast Montessori Institute. I am a member of Early Childhood Music and Movement Association, ECMMA, and I am working towards my first and second level of certification.

I live in Westbrook with my husband, three children, two dogs, one cat, and one gecko.
